I walked in hungry and left happy. Place felt warm right away. Staff greeted me fast and got me seated with no wait. Our server stayed on point all night. Water filled fast, table checked often, good energy the whole time. David suggested his secret steak hash. Best decision I could have made. Crispy potatoes, steak packed with flavor, eggs cooked perfectly. First bite hit hard. Whole plate went crazy. Straight fire. Food came out hot and quick. Kitchen showed skill. Good portions, fair price, no complaints. Service was smooth and friendly the whole meal. Atmosphere felt relaxed and clean. Easy place to sit and enjoy food. David knew the menu well and pointed me and my friends toward great picks. He made the whole experience feel easy and welcoming. Great food, great service. I will come back.

This place is simply amazing. Land & Lake Kitchen, located within the historic London House building, offers not just a meal but a full experience. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted and instantly felt welcome. The atmosphere is lovely, with a balance of modern charm and historic character that makes it a beautiful setting for any occasion. The service was excellent—attentive without being overbearing—and the staff made the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious, with flavors that were fresh, well-prepared, and thoughtfully presented. Every dish came out just right, and it was clear that great care went into both the preparation and presentation. Combined with the wonderful staff and inviting ambiance, dining here felt like a treat from start to finish. Truly a top-notch experience that I would gladly return for again and again.

My friend and I discovered this place last year when we came to visit for the Glow concert. We love the comfortable cozy Bar and Kitchen area and the outstanding food and service from the bartenders and staff. They really make you feel at home, and are very fun to talk to. They're also very good at suggesting where to go based on your interests. We had such a good experience last year, we booked a hotel next door this year, for our stay/Glow concert trip. We were super excited to see that Matt, our favorite bartender from last year was still working the bar! In addition we spent plenty of time with Mike, Cameron, and Danny and now we have 4 favorite people there! The hushpuppies are to die for. Their French fries also. The salads, the fish sandwich and the pesto mushroom omelet. Everything is fresh. Ask Matt or Mike to make you an espresso Martini made with Amaro Alverna if it's later in the day and you don't want caffeine! See you next year Land and Lake!! Thank you all and happy Holidays!!

Land & Lake is conveniently located near the riverwalk, at the base of the London House Hotel, and offers nice views outside. The inside is well lit with natural light, tastefully decorated, and welcoming. There is a bar to sit as as well as tables, and it appeared that there was patio seating out front too. They offered a variety of plates including salads, sandwiches, pasta, salmon, and chicken. Their kids menu has six options to choose from, which we really appreciated. We visited for lunch on a weekday in April. Our waitress was wonderful and service was terrific. She was friendly, kind, and attentive. Our food was delivered quickly and well seasoned. All together, we ordered the mac & cheese, grilled chicken ceasar salad, a steak salad, and a couple of cocktails. Everything was wonderful except for the steak which had a very strong and distinct fish flavor to it. From what I've come to understand, some grass-fed beef can be like this. We've never encountered something like this before, even with grass fed beef, and it was a turn off. Otherwise, we had a good experience. If we were local, we would definitely visit again and just order a different meal.

The first affordable meal I ate since arriving in Chicago. The service, food and environment were all top knotch! Big thanks to our server Johnny. Would highly recommend!

The location felt super convenient and the place had a nice calm vibe. We walked in without a reservation and still got a table right away which was great. The staff stayed friendly the whole time and the service was quick, perfect for a brunch stop. I tried the turkey sandwich and the omelet with goat cheese and salmon, both were amazing. If you are in the area, this spot is definitely worth checking out for brunch. A solid five star experience.

Attached to the Londonhouse hotel off Chicago’s Magnificent Mile this is a great starting point. This modern & clean eatery had a very friendly & helpful staff. The menu selection was vast & tailorable for most taste. I didn’t have any problems finding things I liked (the same went for my family). While the food was enjoyable it was more average than anything else. Think Applebees or TGIF quality. I’ve patroned here for both work & holiday. It’s hard to find any issues here. The price point seems quite reasonable. For some reason the most memorable take away is their coffee. In short this place gets a thumbs up from me.

Highly recommended! I stopped by Land & Lake Kitchen on Monday morning with a couple friends and had such a great experience! We started with the house made pastry basket, which came with a small assortment of croissants, a banana fruit cup and some berries. Everything tasted so fresh, but the croissants really stood out. They were perfectly flaky, buttery, and honestly some of the best I’ve had. They also offer unlimited mimosas, which made brunch feel extra special and fun. It was such a nice way to start the week. I ordered steak and honestly I have trust issues since I always have trouble at other restaurants getting the temperature just right, so I had a few questions. David, who I believe is the chef actually came out to our table to help me decide on the best temperature and assured me it will be made perfect. I really appreciated that personal touch. He was knowledgeable and genuinely wanted to make sure everything was perfect. The steak came out exactly how I wanted it, which doesn’t always happen for me. It made the whole experience even better. I tasted the pancakes a friend ordered and oh my gosh, so fluffy! I can honestly say everything was so good. Between the food, drinks, and service, it was such a great brunch spot. I’ll definitely be back!
